SCORECARD INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Golfers should fill out the card completely and legibly. Please print!

  2. Mark date, start time and hole#.i.e. 2/6/2007 8:00/19

  3. Use Full names. i.e. Sue Jones. Please put your full name on the front of the card (DO NOT USE JUST INITIALS). List names in the same order as they are on the pairings sheet on both the front and the back of the card.

  4. Skip spaces in between players.

  5. Putts go on line beneath name when putts are needed.

  6. Please record your score on the correct course; scoring on the wrong course results in DISQUALIFICATION .

  7. Use a pencil or erasable pen so that corrections to the scorecard can be clearly made.

  8. The names on the back of the card shall be in the same order as on the front of the card, again - not just initials. Complete date, starting time, starting hole, and each players gross score, handicap, net score, and equitable stroke score.

  9. Please remember to account for your equitable score on each hole by putting a dot under the score for that hole (example: if you can only take a 9 on a particular hole and you get a 10, then put a dot under the 10). Then deduct the number of dots from your gross score for posting.

  10. If for some reason you pick up your ball and do not finish a hole, please write "PU" on that hole. (Any time up pick up without completing the hole, you are disqualified from the game of the day.)

  11. Handicaps are updated on the 1st & 15th of each month, so be sure to check your handicap and put your correct handicap on the back of your scorecard.

  12. Sign card. (All golfers must sign the card.)

  13. Cards must be turned in on league days. Cards are put in green box in the pro shop computer room promptly following play. (Before going to lunch.)

  14. It is not necessary to turn in score cards from non-league days.

  15. Post all scores within 48 hours to avoid a penalty score.

EXAMPLE:

MAXIMUM SCORE

In the interest of speeding up play, you may pick up your ball when your maximum score is reached or is inevitable. Remember if you pick up your ball on league day you are automatically disqualified from the game of the day. The score listed for that hole will be your maximum Equitable Strokes with a P.U. and the total score on the back of the card will show your score with an “X”. This makes you ineligible for any prize money for that league day. Your Maximum Score is determined by the Nine Hole Equitable Stroke Table. Example: If you have a 18 Handicap for Nine Holes look at the Equitable Stroke Table for your handicap which would be 9 strokes. This would be your maximum stokes score for that hole.

SPECIAL SCORES

BIRDIES are acknowledged and tracked. Mark your scorecards so that birdie scores are circled and prominently noted.

UNDER 50 AND UNDER 45 scores are also tracked but are more easily recognized.

HOLE-IN-ONE: This achievement is only recognized with an award if it occurs on a league day.

RESPONSIBILITIES

YOU are the one responsible to ensure that any information on your card is accurate.

Disqualifications are made for claiming a handicap higher than you are entitled to, failing to sign the scorecard, or for putting scores on the wrong course. Also you can disqualify yourself by picking up your ball on league day. Check the bulletin board for disqualifications and errors.

Handicap Committee will submit computer correction for incorrect scores as applicable

POSTING
  • Post all scores within 48 hours of the finish of a round.

  • If you make a mistake while posting please enter the information in the binder with the red cover so the Handicap Committee can correct your error.

  • If you fail to post your score on a League Day or for Sunday Couples Events, the Handicap Committee will issue a Penalty Score on your posting record. All other errors will be corrected without penalty.
