PREPRINTED SCORECARD LOCATION EFFECTIVE MAY 27^TH

Beginning May 27^th the scorecards will be placed in the pro shop on the telephone desk (the desk where blank scorecards and pencils are located) when we play either SaddleBrooke or Tucson course; when playing Catalina, the scorecards will be in the starter shack near the handicap sheets. 

HOLE # 2 DROP ZONE

There has been some confusion on how to play hole #2. On league days (and any other Niner's event), the Niners have the option to use the drop zone. The drop zone on hole #2 is located at the green tees. You would be hitting your third shot. (Your tee shot is 1 and the penalty for going in the water is 2.)

CHANGE IN TEE TIME REQUEST POLICY FOR LEAGUE PLAY EFFECTIVE 2/1/08

Beginning February 1st, requests for tee times for event play must be made by 11:58 PM on the TUESDAY prior to the Tuesday you wish to play. Cancellations after the cut off time will be made through the Pro shop, who will advise the Pairings Chair. This policy has been adopted by all of the golf leagues in SaddleBrooke at the request of the Pro Shop.

Just a reminder – late sign up is not allowed. For phone sign up, you may request to play up to 4 weeks in advance, via home phone, long distance phone, or cell phone. An alternative is to have a friend put in your request.

Club Historian Needed

We are in need of a Club Historian for 2008. If you are interested in volunteering for this important position, contact Cathie Wortham at 825-2694 or roncath@aol.com

The club historian is responsible for taking pictures of club activities and award luncheons. She will maintain an album recording the activities of the Niners.

Protest Procedure

If there is a question concerning the number of strokes taken by another golfer in a foursome, attempt to resolve the discrepancy before moving on to the next hole. If not resolved, the card should not be signed and a protest form should be filled out by the others in the foursome and turned in to the Handicap or Tournament Chair.

The protest forms are located in the green scorecard box on the Niners' shelf in the posting room.

(Please note that in this instance, you will not be disqualified for not signing your card.)

How to score a hole not played

With the arrival of our rainy season there may be times when the condition of the course or weather may cause some holes on the golf course to be closed.  When a hole is closed or when the weather is bad and forces you to quit before you have finished all 9 or 18 holes, but you have played enough holes to post; it will be necessary for you to take your pops on these holes that you could not finish.  To help you figure out how many pops you can take on any given hole, there is a  "Pop Chart" posted on the Niners' bulletin board next to the handicap chart (to the right of the outside entrance door).  There is a sheet for each course. Find your handicap on the left of each sheet and follow the line across to the hole or holes you were unable to complete.

 

Remember this chart is for all the Niners to use, so please do not remove the chart from the posting room.
